BALTIMORE COUNTY UPDATE

As of Friday, June 5th at 5 P.M., Baltimore County has moved into the State of Maryland’s Stage Two. This order includes a number of steps for the businesses, organizations and residents to move forward safely while navigating through the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Retail stores will be able to further re-open for in-store retail for up to 50 per cent capacity, including staff. This regulation applies to all retail establishments outside of those considered essential under the others of the state. Services such as curbside pick-up and delivery remain strongly encouraged and all public health precautions should remain in place. Shopping malls remain closed for now, excluding retail establishments that can be accessed from the outside.

All retail stores that open for business pursuant to this Executive Order must enforce at least six foot social distancing practices. These retail stores shall require staff to wear, and those staff shall wear, face coverings while working with the customers and in instances in which interactions with other staff are likely. All individuals who are over two years of age who are customers at a retail store are required to wear face coverings while in the retail stores.

Construction Protocol

As of May 1st, all residential construction projects in Pennsylvania are authorized to resume and conduct in-person operations. This includes new construction, renovation, and repair services. However, these projects permit limited persons on the job site at any given time, including employees and subcontractors, along with:

  • Wearing face coverings whenever in-person interaction takes place
  • Conducting temperature checks for workers and other personnel
  • Limiting the proximity of employees by rotating employee hours
  • Instituting split schedules, shifts or shorter weeks
  • Staggering start, break or shift times

PHTA recommends downloading a copy of the Guidance and Health Order to ensure that all COVID-19 safety guidelines are being followed. PHTA continues efforts to reopen retail in Pennsylvania.

Store Retail Protocol

We encourage customers to contact their local store before they visit to discuss protocol and the support requests.  In the interest of safety for all, we prefer to handle as many retail transactions as possible over the phone, and with curbside pick-up and carry-out style product delivery. Our Water Testing service is also available at all locations.

We ask that you adhere to the 6′ physical distancing rule and wear a mask when in our parking lots and at the front doors of our retail locations. Anyone not abiding by this will be asked to leave.

We encourage you to take advantage of our curbside pick-up service.  Upon your arrival, please call the store to inform a sales representative that you have arrived and the reason for your visit.  Any product that is needed can be discussed by phone or while the customer remains in the car.

All employees are also being required to wash hands before and after any interaction with a customer to keep both parties as safe as possible.

Pool & Hot Tub Consultations

It is recommended that you call or email your store for in-store pool and hot tub consultations to arrange an appointment.

Water-Testing Policy

Water testing is available at all of our locations. We are here to support you with your water-testing and chemical recommendation requests. We ask that you put your water sample into a disposable container and place it in the water drop off box located near the front door of the store. Please provide your name and telephone number on the sample container. A store representative will contact you within 24 hours with your results and chemical recommendations. We sincerely appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times.

Delivery Options: At this time, we are offering a $75 delivery fee.  This can include chemicals, equipment, toys, floats, and any other retail product.  This is limited to our normal service area.

Final Thoughts: We are committed to supporting state and local mandates to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and we will do our part in protecting public health.  Water that is not properly maintained can serve as a breeding ground for potentially fatal viruses.
