5 New Year’s Resolutions to Help Reduce Your Stress

As the New Year rapidly approaches, it’s time to take stock of our stress levels. Was 2022 a little bit too demanding?

Did you struggle to reduce your stress this year? If you answered yes, it may be time to make some changes.

Read on for some of the best New Year’s resolutions you can make to keep stress under control in the New Year.

1. Reduce Stress with Hydrotherapy

If you’re looking for an easy resolution for 2023 that will help you de-stress, look no further than your hot tub. Immersing the body in heated water has numerous health benefits, one of the main ones being stress relief.

The heated water combined with jet massage eases tight, sore muscles while boosting your endorphin levels, literally flooding your body with feel-good chemicals.

So if you want 2023 to be a less stressful year, why not commit to spending 20 minutes a day relaxing in your hot tub? It’s the easiest resolution you’ll ever make.

2. Regular Exercise

We all know that exercise is good for us. In fact, exercising regularly is one of the most common resolutions we make each New Year’s. The problem is, it can be hard to stick to, especially when we choose workout routines solely for their body-changing benefits.

The key to sticking with any exercise regime is choosing to work out in ways we enjoy. In other words, don’t sign up for a gym membership if you don’t like going to the gym.

And there’s no point in taking yoga classes if you don’t love doing yoga. Find a way to exercise that you’ll enjoy. When working out is fun, it will more likely reduce your stress.

3. Sufficient Sleep

It’s hard to face the struggles and stress life throws at us when we’re tired. Being well-rested may not keep stress away, but it certainly enables you to manage it more efficiently.

The average adult requires seven to nine hours of sleep per night to be at their best. So, in 2023, consider making a commitment to get to bed a bit earlier. It may mean shutting off the TV at 9 p.m., but the benefits we reap from a good night’s sleep are well worth it.

4. Well-Balanced Diet

Going on a diet is another common resolution made each year by millions of people. The problem is, diets aren’t sustainable and rarely reap long-term results. What does work, however, is changing your lifestyle.

Rather than going on a diet, commit to eating healthy: more fruits and vegetables, complex carbs and lean proteins and fewer sugary, salty or fatty foods.

If you make your eating habits a priority in 2023, you’ll be healthier and more energized, making it far easier to deal with stressful situations whenever they arise.

5. Get Organized

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when we’re living in chaos. In fact, clutter is a major trigger for stress.  If organization isn’t your strong suit, why not commit to de-cluttering your home and workspace in 2023?

Toss items you no longer want or use and create designated spaces for items you use frequently. Storage bins or baskets are a great way to organize your cupboards, shelves, and closets.

However, to stay organized, putting items back in their designated spot after each use is essential. If you can commit to staying organized, you’ll be amazed at how much you can reduce stress.
